A moment that will live forever in history took place this election day. Barack Obama became the first black man ever elected President of the USA. I am hopeful for our country for the first time in a long long time. I believe that he will unite people and that he will look out for people who have no one looking out for them right now. I think the war in Iraq will be over very soon and I think a wave of hope and compassion has begun to sweep over our nation.
I know this election was very polarizing - especially among Christians. I know many people I consider dear friends cannot understand how I could embrace Obama because of some of his policy positions. I know I have a hard time understanding the same about those who supported McCain. But my hope and prayer is that we can all come together and give Obama a chance to lead...and see where it goes. I think it's the least we can do.

i've been waiting for you to update your blog on the election! :)
while i could never embrace either candidate enough to be as excited about voting on tuesday, i must say, waking up wednesday morning to the news (yeah, i'm lame and went to sleep before it was called tuesday night...however it was after obama took ohio and that pretty much sealed the deal...) was inspiring and uplifting.
i'm looking forward to the next four (or eight) years more than i've ever looked forward to any presidency. i'm excited to finally have confidence in our president-elect. :) and i'm liking what i'm hearing and seeing across the world regarding obama's election.
